In 2007 Cuttlebrook Koi Farm in Oxfordshire very kindly held an auction of their superb English bred koi for the benefit of the British Koi Keepers Society. The auction was held on the 7th April and was for members of the Society. Although the attendance was qute small the atmosphere was not the less electrifying!! Especially gratifying was the attendance of Cliff Neale and John Helens, both past winners of the Grand Champion award at our National Show. As the fish were floated in baskets up and down the water channel it soon became obvious that there were bargains to be had, this was emphasised when husband and wife, Mark & Sue Chetter, begain bidding against each other! Interestingly enough some of the koi purchased at the auction won prizes at the National and other shows in 2007.
I am very pleased to say that I have been contacted by Lisa Davis of Cuttlebrook Koi Farm who is happy to hold an auction on the 27th April, 2008 for the benefit of the Society. Tickets will be £5 and can be obtained from myself. The gates will open at 10am, and the auction will start at 11am. You can contact me on 01344 861525 or by email on secretary@bkks.org.uk. Details of Cuttlebrook Koi Farm can be found a www.cuttlebrookkoifarm.co.uk where you will be able to find out all about the Farm and how their fish have done on the show circuit.
This is an auction for Society members only so if you want to attend but are not a member then you will need to join the Society using either the £15 membership only or the £35 membership which includes KOI magazine. Further details of joining the Society are at bkks.org.uk/Join_The_BKKS
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Mark & Lisa at Cuttlebrook for their support of the Society and look forward to seeing you all there in April.
